Wedding this weekend

So I recenly picked up some Items from Brooks Brothers that were reasonably priced for a wedding I'll be attending this weekend. I'm so excited! This is the first of my pledge brothers to get married so it's kind of a huge deal. I hope it's open bar......

What color tie would you wear with this?

Beer, Beer, Beer!

Wednesday was another great Lets Get Beer-d day! This week there were three of us that each got a six-er and we all picked pretty good beer (for the most part).

Stay away from the Dog Bite... Trust me...
There were three great beers and one that tasted like Aluminum (can you guess which one).
I brought the Black Jack Porter brewed by Left Hand. It was a great malty beer, but it was still very crisp. If you enjoy drinking black coffee I recommend this beer.
Then there was the Torpedo Extra IPA brewed by Sierra Nevada. It was a good hoppy beer and very flavorful.
Then there was the Mojo IPA brewed by Bolder Brewing Company. This beer was probably my favorite beer of the night. It was a nice light beer, which is great for Summer! It even had somewhat of a fruity taste to it which made it very enjoyable.

The last beer in the picture is called Dog Bite... it is a high gravity lager... it is 10% and in a 24oz can.... it is maybe one of the worst beers I have ever had... I don't recommend this unless you don't care about the taste and just want to get smashed...

Enjoy!

Let's Get Beer!

It's the summer season and that means much needed relaxation. And typically when I think of relaxing, I think of popping open a nice cold one. There are many great seasonal beers, and this Summer I'm going to attempt to try as many as possible. I'm going to start a new segment on here called "Lets Get Beer" and every Wednesday me and a couple of friends are each going to get a six-er of a beer they have never had before. Then I'm going to post them on here to keep a record of all the different beers! I'm not saying that I know that much about beer, or really anything for that matter... I just enjoy the different flavors.
We started this last week and I didn't really even think about posting it until a couple of days ago, but here it is.

Last week we bought some Bass Pale Ale and Guinness Draught to concoct our own Black and Tans. You may have heard of Yingling's Black and Tan, which is a good beer, but after you make your own the flavors don't even compare. Watching the draught settle on top of the pale ale was beautiful, and the taste as you turned up your mug mixing the flavors was outstanding.

I poured mine into a mug, however if you try this, it is recommended that you use a pilsner glass
To make you own Black and Tan all you need is:

1/2 of a stout beer
1/2 of a pale ale
a spoon
a pilsner glass (or any glass)

First you pour in the pale ale at an angle (as to not make the beer foam)
Next you place the spoon upside down (the concave side is facing the beer) right above beer in the pilsner
Then slowly pour the stout over the spoon.
Your final product should look something like the picture above.

You can also adjust the amount of both beers to make it more Black than Tan or vise versa.

I hope you enjoy!... now lets get weird....

Mom's Birthday and Father's Day

So my mother's birthday is coming up this Friday and I haven't the slightest clue what to get her...
She says that all she wants is my love, but I want to give her an actual gift. I'm just not sure what to get her. I really need some help on this one and my girlfriend isn't being helpful either. I want to get her something she will use, that is fun and more than likely colorful.... this one is tough.... What do you get for the greatest mother in the whole world? If you like moms please leave a comment of great gift ideas.

Then there is Father's Day. A celebration of dads. I did pick up my dad a new Brooks Brothers Polo to wear when we go golf in a couple of weeks. My dad is not one for brands, but I think he can appreciate a good polo shirt.
The relationship I have with my dad is the best. We could have an argument, and like clock work, we make up within the hour... every time. I consider my dad to be one of my best friends, and I love and respect him more and more each day.

Here is a great picture of my whole family... and me before I was preppy (note the flat bill)
