Dressing for a Date

My Lady decided that we needed to go on a nice dinner date, so I thought I would surprise her with getting a bit spiffy.

 Tommy Hilfiger bow tie
Brooks Brothers watch and watch band
Custom made Lapel Flower (made by My Lady)
Gray bucks (not sure who makes them)
 Ray Ban Wayfares

 Ralph Lauren pink OCBD
Brooks Brothers navy Jacket

Needless to say it was a wonderful evening, and I enjoyed going out to dinner with my beautiful Lady. I still need to do my post about Vegas, but I'm still collecting pictures. But hopefully it will be up sometime this week.

New Jackets

I recently purchased a BB jacket from an outlet and the fit is unbelievable! It feel like it was tailored just for me! Not to loose or tight, the sleeve length is perfect, and it fits snugly on my shoulders! So what if I had to spend a bit more, I probably would have spent that much just to get a jacket tailored so I'm okay with it.

I also purchased a Lands End jacket from Broke & Bespoke. He was selling this jacket on his tumbler and I decided to hit him up about it. He told me that others had made him offers earlier, but if for some reason they flaked out that he would let me know. Sure enough they did and I was able to snag this beauty for da cheap-cheap. It does need to be taken up in the sleeves, but other than that it's great. I'm really enjoying growing my jacket collection.

Oh and another thing I have picked where I'm going on my Summer trip. I'm heading out to Las Vegas for a fun trip with My Lady's family. I've been out there before with her family, but this time her extended family will be there as well (I hope I don't embarrass myself... or her). But I'm looking forward to see all the beautiful hotels, all the lights glowing from the strip, and lets not forget the booze! I'll take some pics to post when I return.

Well Dressed for an Afternoon

So I decided to get dressed up for a trip home to see my family. No one in my family really does this for no reason... but I do. I think it's fun
I was impressed with myself on this one. I have never been able to put a dimple in my tie (I have also never tried before), but I was pretty excited when I looked up in the mirror to see this. This is a Brooks Brother's tie that I got for Christmas for My Lady.
Here is a pair of shoes that I thrift-ed a few weeks back. I had never seen wingtips what weren't laced so I got them.
When it got a little hotter, I decided to take off my jacket and roll up my sleeves.

Long Time, No Post!

I've been bad lately about keeping up with my blog regularly... and for that I apologize.... not back to the post. Since it has been almost 2 weeks, I need to put several bits in this post including Let's Get Beer Wednesday, and the wedding I attended a couple of weekends ago. Lets jump in beer first shall we?

So we found out a couple of weeks ago that the Kroger in Cookeville finally got on the same page as all the other Krogers and made a "you pick six" section. And even though it was at a Kroger we were getting beer, they still had a large selection.

The first beer that I went for was the Sierra Nevada, because I haven't had a beer from them yet that I haven't enjoyed. This beer was no exception! I loved the great flavors of this beer! It had a hint of banana which I found very refreshing.
Next was the Lazy Magnolia Deep South Pale Ale. I wasn't sure if this was going to be very good, but I was wrong. It was very flavorful!
This was the New Belgium 1554 Black Lager. It was a great dark beer, however I might stay away from drinking to many of those during the Summer months. I think this would be a great Fall and Winter beer.
This is the Long Board Island Lager. I had never tried this beer before, but it defiantly wasn't for me... compared to all the other beers I had that night, it just kind of fell flat.
This was the last beer I had for the evening. This is Shiner Ruby Redbird. This is probably going to one of my favorite beers for the rest of my life. I love the taste of ginger, and this beer basically tastes like a alcoholic ginger ale! It was soooo good. The only down side to this beer is that it is a seasonal beer and will most likely go back into hibernation once Fall rolls around. :(
Here is a pic from the wedding that I attended a few weekends back. Doesn't my Lady look super hot in that dress?! It's hard to see but she made me that red lapel flower. Also I got a chance to wear my new Brooks Brothers. I'm not sure if the slim fit pants are working for me though...
This is just on here because I wanted to say happy freedom day and suck it England! (jk England you know I'm just foolin with you

Wedding this weekend

So I recenly picked up some Items from Brooks Brothers that were reasonably priced for a wedding I'll be attending this weekend. I'm so excited! This is the first of my pledge brothers to get married so it's kind of a huge deal. I hope it's open bar......

What color tie would you wear with this?

Mom's Birthday and Father's Day

So my mother's birthday is coming up this Friday and I haven't the slightest clue what to get her...
She says that all she wants is my love, but I want to give her an actual gift. I'm just not sure what to get her. I really need some help on this one and my girlfriend isn't being helpful either. I want to get her something she will use, that is fun and more than likely colorful.... this one is tough.... What do you get for the greatest mother in the whole world? If you like moms please leave a comment of great gift ideas.

Then there is Father's Day. A celebration of dads. I did pick up my dad a new Brooks Brothers Polo to wear when we go golf in a couple of weeks. My dad is not one for brands, but I think he can appreciate a good polo shirt.
The relationship I have with my dad is the best. We could have an argument, and like clock work, we make up within the hour... every time. I consider my dad to be one of my best friends, and I love and respect him more and more each day.

Here is a great picture of my whole family... and me before I was preppy (note the flat bill)

DelMonaco

So this past weekend was quite busy. My Lady had a softball tournament (that I unfortunately was unable to attend) at UT Martin. She left last Wednesday and I didn't get to see her again until Sunday... I was starting to get withdrawals. But I was able to keep myself busy. Friday, I slept almost all afternoon. Saturday was eventful; I had to go to Chattanooga for my nieces second birthday, and on the way I got to pick my grandmother and spend some quality time with her. Then while at the party I was informed that I would get to be a special guest at the birthday party. Little did I know that it would entail wearing a big red fuzzy suit, with four fingered gloves and a big red fuzzy head. And if you can't guess who I was from this vague description, I was Elmo. Yes, I got to trump around in an Elmo costume, which quite frankly frightened the children more than it brought them joy. Alas it was still fun (for me at least).
I think Elmo should always wear BB.

Then Sunday rolled around and I was finally reunited with my Lady. I decided to make Sunday into a special date day starting with a wine tasting at DelMonaco Winery.

DelMonaco

We both had an amazing time tasting wines and walking around the vineyard. We would have liked to gone on a longer tour but the weather wasn't cooperating with us. We wound up leaving with two bottles of their wine to enjoy with our dinner and desert. Next we went to the grocery store (which I know sounds like nothing special, but we really enjoy going together) and pick out the ingredients that would end up making one of the greatest things I have ever tasted. Then we sat down to dinner, we drank wine and enjoyed our food. Then we crawled into bed and watched How I Met Your Mother, until we both fell asleep. It was an amazing day.

Date Night with My Lady

My Lady wanted to go on a date, so when I got home from work yesterday I was surprised to see her all dolled up to go out. So I quickly got ready to have a nice evening with a beautiful woman.
Look at this classy lady I had the pleasure of attending dinner and a movie with.
I bought her a Brooks Brothers  Polo for a presentation but instead I got to enjoy
her wearing it on our date.

Ralph Lauren OCBD, IZOD flat fronts, J Press belt, Southern Proper hat
We started the date by going to Longhorn Steakhouse and it was delicious! After that we went to go see the movie The Cabin in the Woods.

My Lady and I have seen quite a few scary movies together, and we have seen all the stereotypical zombie, ghosts, serial killer, and creature features films that are out there. But this movie kept us guessing. I can usually figure out movies after a point, and I thought I did with this movie, but then there was a crazy twist. So if you are a fan of horror films I'd say go see this, just solely on the fact that you will probably say,"What the Hell did I just watch?"

An Afternoon with My Lady

I've decided that Brooks Brother's shorts are now my new favorite.
My Lady and I went out Sunday afternoon to Lebanon to have dinner with my parents and while we were out there we decided to hit up the Ralph Lauren Factory outlet as well as the Brooks Brothers outlet. I picked up a couple of t-shirts from Ralph Lauren, and they are soooooo soft. I love just lounging around in their t-shirts.

I saw a suit there that I really liked. My Lady didn't like the tie, but she did like the colors. What do you think about it? The South's the Limit!

A Comfortable Fit

I, as many of my other friends, enjoy a nice fitting polo for a warm Spring day. Nothing says its getting nice outside like wearing your favorite polo shirt tucked into a nice pair of chino shorts. I've been trying to expand my collection of polos with a nice variety to colors. I have a few, but as you know I just started to dress this way and my wardrobe isn't quite were I want it to be. I try not to stick to one brand of polos because I know there are tons of different companies out there and all of them make nice, quality clothes. There's the big dogs like Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers and Lacoste, but there is also Southern Tide, Vineyard Vines, Southern Proper, Southern Point Co., Coast, Perlis, Gulf Coast, Salmon Cove, and many more. You should check them out if you have never heard of them.
Here's a Brooks Brothers polo I won on ebay
I like this look a lot right now, and even though it might change here or there, I like to reflect on some advice a wise man once gave me "there's never a better time to reinvent yourself than college". Thanks CKC.
And remember, as always, the South's the Limit!
